Motion Tracking
In this video, the carriage is tracking the movements of the box sitting on the trolley. As the technician moves the trolley, cameras on the carriage track the movement of the box and move the carriage to match.
Motion Tracking over water
In this video, the cameras on the carriage are tracking the movements of the remote controlled boat and following it as it sails up and down the pool. There is no physical connection between the boat and the carriage, every time the boat changes course or speed the movement is picked up by the cameras and relayed to the control system which positions the carriage to match. Pretty clever stuff.
