You should be a Degree qualified Electrical Engineer ideally with industry experience, be north Midlands based and happy to travel, a good team player with a knack for project management and have a passion for attention to detail.  The work is varied, as a company we specialise in new system design, retrofits and upgrades, as well as break downs and servicing. If you have experience in all of these areas it would be a bonus, but we are happy to work with and develop the right individuals who can demonstrate a good track record in some of them.

From dealing with customer inquiries, producing quotations, selling modules or designing systems you'll have the opportunity to be involved in projects from start to completion, gaining experience and the satisfaction of showcasing your skills as you go.

Graduate Electrical Design Engineers

What we are looking for:

  • Graduates with a Batchelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering  (B.Eng EEE degree)
  • Be inquisitive, want to understand how ‘things’ work and able to offer creative solutions to problems
  • Be proficient in the use of MS Office programs, particularly Excel
  • Demonstrate real interest in the role and curiosity to learn more
  • Be capable of producing work to a high standard of accuracy
  • Have excellent communication skills and be comfortable working with clients and others across the business
  • Be organised, able to balance workload and meet deadlines
  • Be able to work under pressure but maintain excellent attention to detail
  • Have an interest in motion control - how to make things move
  • Have experience of programming and basic control theory
  • Have a full UK driving license and access to a car as travel to clients’ sites across the country is a major part of the role

The following would be a bonus, but don’t be put off if not

  • Knowledge/Experience of 2D software – particularly AutoCAD LT
  • Have an interest in or experience of AC/DC Drives Systems & Motors

What are all the practical details?

  • Starting salary: £24,000 - £27,000 depending on skills and experience
  • Company benefits: 21 days holiday plus bank holidays (gradually increases to 25 days with length of service), employee ownership in the business after 12 months.
  • Location: Unit 11 The Stables, Staveley Hall , Chesterfield, Derbyshire S43 3TN
  • Start details: you will be required to work in the office but travel to customer sites is an important part of what we do.
  • Transport and parking: free parking is available
  • Start date: Varies

What will the first few weeks be like?

  • We'll need to train you on our internal IT systems, get you kitted out in PPE and get you on a safety awareness course.  Without the Safety Passport we can't get you on site. 
  • We'll look at your current knowledge level of the products we commonly use and put a training plan in place.
  • You'll work alongside one of our engineers on a project and get to grips with our purchasing and project management systems.  You'll be given tasks to help progress the project, this could be design, HMI programming or completing drawings.
  • We'll take you round the panel shop so you can get an appreciation of the work the technicians do

Electronics Engineer

Location: North Midlands

Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience

Hours of work: Full time, Permanent.  Typically Mon-Fri 8:30am until 5.00pm - some early starts/late finishes may be required depending upon project delivery.

  • Electrical Engineering Degree qualified.

Design Engineer

A leading solutions provider in the Electrical Control Systems sector, specialising in drive systems, we are seeking a highly motivated design engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled team working in a variety of industries. Requirements

Essential

  • Have a passion for engineering and an inquisitive nature
  • A degree in electrical or electronics engineering
  • Interest in electrical / electronic control system engineering

Desirable

  • In-depth experience of electrical control systems design
  • Knowledge of major manufacturer’s drives and control products, eg. ABB, Control Techniques, Rockwell/Allen Bradley and Siemens
  • AC/DC Drives integration knowledge
  • Motion control application experience
  • PLC Programming experience
  • Electrical schematic design
  • Worked on a number of installations from design to implementation
  • Live within a maximum distance of 60 miles of the Company’s offices in North Derbyshire

The role involves hardware and software design of PLC/Drive systems, project management, onsite commissioning etc.

You will be handling a variety of interesting projects for our customers both OEMs and end users. Your involvement will be from the tender stage through to project completion ensuring continuity and ultimate customer satisfaction.

Location

Flexibility of working from home or our office, but you must be within a 1 hour drive from our offices at Staveley Hall.
